TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida Schooling Commissioner Richard Corcoran, who sparred with school boards and the federal governing administration in excess of mask mandates in the course of the coronavirus pandemic, declared Thursday he is resigning at the conclusion of April.
In a statement, Corcoran, a former Florida Home speaker, said he is stepping down to commit much more time with his family members and made available major praise for Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who appointed him in 2018.
